STEM AI Science & Nature visits robin’s nest

AI generated image mother robin feeds chicks in nest. Copilot iGentixAI Generative Learning #iVirtue

Generative Learning Science and Nature visits an active robin nest with chicks.

Here is a wonderful way to integrate first graders to AI in a way that connects with nature and storytelling! Here’s a detailed AI Integration Class Plan using Generative AI with inspiration from a robin’s nest.

Introduction (15 minutes)

Generative Learning Science and Nature visits an active robin nest with chicks.
- Show & Tell: Begin by observing an actual robin’s nest with chicks being fed by their mother.
- Discussion: Ask questions like:
 - What do you notice about the nest?
 - How do the baby birds look?
 - Why is the mother feeding them?
- Fun Fact: Robins can lay eggs up to three times in a season!

AI and Creativity (20 minutes)

Here is a wonderful way to integrate first graders to AI in a way that connects with nature and storytelling! Here’s a detailed AI Integration Class Plan using Generative AI with inspiration from a robin’s nest:
- What is Generative AI? Explain that AI can help us make pictures and stories, just like an artist or writer.
- Drawing with AI: Use an AI-powered image generator to create a picture of a robin’s nest based on the students’ descriptions.
- Storytelling with AI: Guide students in using AI to write a short story about the baby robins—like imagining what they dream about or what they say to their mother.

Hands-On Activity (25 minutes)

- AI Art Challenge: Students describe the nest, chicks, and mother, and AI generates a drawing based on their words.
- Robin’s Diary: They work with AI to create a short diary entry “A Day in the Life of a Baby Robin”—including what they eat and how they grow.
- AI Q&A: Encourage students to ask AI questions about birds—like “What do robins eat?” and “Where do they fly in winter?”—and explore the answers together.

Wrap-Up & Reflection (10 minutes)

- Sharing: Kids present their AI-created drawings and stories.
- Discussion: How did AI help us create? What surprised you?
- Closing Thought: AI is like a helper—it can turn our ideas into pictures and stories!

Materials Needed:

✔️ iPad Tablets with AI drawing and text tools
✔️ Images/videos of robin nests
✔️ Paper for drawing and writing

This class beautifully ties nature with AI storytelling, sparking curiosity and creativity at  Dos Amigos School !
